The Municipal Directorate of Justice is located in the municipal capital together with the Civil Registry of Calimete, the Property Registry, the Notary and the Economic Department, which enables greater communication between all departments and the Directorate, the Registries being independent Civilians located in the towns of Amarillas and Manguito.

The entity has the function of:

• Advise the Government of the territory in the implementation of the legal policy approved for its sphere of care, and comply with the legal norms and the corresponding methodological provisions.
• Control the organization and operation of the offices of the Civil Status Registry, marriage halls and palaces, the Property Registry and the Notary Unit.
• Attend and coordinate the activities of legal advice in the territory.
• Manage the actions that are ordered by the judicial administration body of the provincial administration in matters related to associations.
• Address issues arising from the Government's relations with ecclesiastical or religious institutions and those based on the religious creed of its members or directly related to the aforementioned institutions, according to the guidelines of the Office of the Directorate of Justice of the Provincial Administration.
• Collaborate with the organs and agencies of the territory in the dissemination of law and contribute to the legal training of the people.
• Control the fulfillment of the social service of the graduated jurists who are located in Justice.
• Provide information for updating the jurists in their territory in the General Registry of Jurists.
• Guarantee the operation of the Municipal Real Estate Group.

Recognition of parental affiliation to children.

It will be presented:

• Identity card of the mother and father.
• Affidavit of both parents before the registrar or notary.

In the cases of Cubans residing abroad or foreigners, they must accredit the deed of acknowledgment authorized by a notary public and the document issued by the Directorate of Immigration and Aliens, accrediting the dates of entry and exit from the country of said persons.

Formalization of marriage

he parties will contribute to the registrar:

• Identity card.
• Document that proves the marital status, in the case of the woman, a medical certificate if 300 days have not elapsed after the dissolution of the marriage bond.
• Special Power if it is a proxy.
• Parental authorization in cases of minors of age, before a Notary or Registrar.

Property Registration

To register your house you must contribute:

• Updated property title that must contain: nature of the property (Urban or Rural).
• Location.
• Description (Type of Property and its component parts).
• Measurements and boundaries, occupied area and total area.
• Value or legal price.
• Nature of Law.
• Holder(s) with their complete generals.
• Transmitter of the right with its complete generals.
• Official or authority that issued the title.
• Identity document of the person requesting registration or representation in the corresponding cases.
• Proof of Tax Payment, if applicable.

The application may be submitted by:

• The acquirer of the right, the one who transmits the right, the legal or voluntary representative of the aforementioned persons or any person with a legitimate interest in ensuring the right to register.

Terms for registration

• 15 business days from the filing of the request. The term can be extended to 30 more working days, exceptionally if other documents are required to be requested outside the registry, to verify the validity of the title.

Registration is charged according to the value or legal price of the property.

The registrar will advise in each case what corresponds.
